Dora Sanches and Traia Véia Nominated for the 2026 Latin GRAMMYs

Brazilian music has two more major reasons to celebrate. Dora Sanches and Traia Véia have been nominated for the 2026 Latin GRAMMYs, one of the most important awards in Latin American music.

The two artists arrive at the awards ceremony at different stages of their careers with StrmMusic, but they share the same strength: the ability to transform their work into experiences that connect artists, music, and audiences.

Dora Sanches is nominated in the Best New Artist category. The nomination comes at a defining moment in her career, following the release of Seda de Casulo, her debut studio album. The project represents an important step in her artistic development and brings together songs about self-discovery, transformation, insecurities, and rebuilding.

A singer, songwriter, and music producer, Dora draws from references ranging from MPB and soul to R&B, jazz, and alternative pop. Through her work, the artist transforms personal experiences into a sensitive and deeply personal body of work, revealing an identity that is gaining increasing space within Brazil’s new music scene.

Traia Véia, meanwhile, was nominated in the Best Sertanejo Music Album category for Traia Acústico (Ao Vivo). Formed by Edu Araújo, Dario Rodrigues, Vini Gouvea, and Pedro Cordeiro, the quartet is experiencing a period of expansion and growing national recognition.

The group began its journey in 2022, bringing together four musicians with different experiences and a shared passion for sertanejo music. After winning over audiences with videos on social media, Traia Véia recorded its first DVD in 2023 and has since continued to strengthen its presence in the genre with a sound that combines the tradition of sertanejo raiz with elements of contemporary sertanejo.

The nomination of Traia Acústico (Ao Vivo) recognizes not only the quality of the project, but also the growth of a group that has been expanding its reach and winning over new audiences. Alongside major names in sertanejo music, Traia Véia represents a new generation that keeps the essence of the genre alive while building its own path.

For StrmMusic, following these two journeys makes this achievement even more special. Dora Sanches and Traia Véia each demonstrate, in their own way, how different styles, stories, and identities can reach new spaces when supported by planning, dedication, and the freedom to develop a consistent artistic career.

The nominations for the 2026 Latin GRAMMYs celebrate the present, but they also point toward everything that is still to come. Congratulations, Dora Sanches and Traia Véia! May this nomination be another milestone in your journeys and the beginning of many more achievements.

The 27th edition of the Latin GRAMMYs will take place on November 12, 2026, in Las Vegas. Dora Sanches is nominated for Best New Artist, while Traia Véia is competing for Best Sertanejo Music Album with Traia Acústico (Ao Vivo).
